Moving Language in Space
This project is inspired by Sianne Ngai's "Our Aesthetic Categories," which discusses the resurgence of aesthetics in literary studies. Ngai highlights the categories of cute, zany, and interesting as key to understanding aesthetics in late capitalism. After reading this article, I found the categories of Realism, Lovable, and Comedy particularly powerful. To illustrate their unique characteristics and provide a new perspective on artworks, I created a loop animation for each category.
